Look What I've been crocheting!

Im always on toes to learn something new, and this time I've been learning to crochet, like most Moms-to-be. And its FUN. Who doesn't like stuffed toys??? Well I just love them. They are soooo cute:) So I thought of crocheting Amigurumi animals..Wondering what's that?? Amigurumi is the japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals . 'Ami' meaning crocheting and 'nuigurumi' means stuffed dolls in japanese.

Whats so wonderful about dolls are that they dont't really speak. Yes, of course, thats why they are so loved. Imagine a gabby doll...fidgety fag..rippety rapping all the time. That would be the end of the 'world of dolls' and then they would all be extinct. Isnt't it???

Look at its placid face. I love the colours of this particular one..especially the tinge of bright dark blue on yellow. And also its cute little belly!







This one happens to be the first of my amigurumi dolls. I liked the cute little pink ears.

Oh and this one is Mr Snail. have you seen any snail so colorful? Well, If no..here He is!



And this last one is my most favourite of all..This is the biggest one until now. It looks more like a teddy I guess... Anyways its just a figment of my imagination..Whatever it is..I love it:)

Happy Dasara to all of you:) Guess its time to get dumped with sweets and savouries.
So for a change I actually got up early to get decked up for ayudha pooja in my house this morning. Just came out of the house to pick some flowers from the tiny garden (The garden which has just 2 flower shrubs..not much) , and then ,Oh! .... My !.... God!..... Look what I saw...in time.






This greeny little fat thing glued to the twigs. I had never seen such a huge caterpillar or whatever its called ,from such a short distance, And we were all wondering, 'Where do all the leaves go?'

Of Course this hungry guy eats all of it!!!

I just got a few novels from my uncle few days back. Just started reading 'Atlas Shrugged' by Ayn Rand. Anyways, after few pages through, I wanted to bookmark it. And , Nooooooooooo..I lost my old bookmarks.
"Oops" I thought, "What do i do now? Im in trouble" ? (Yeah right!!!)

Considering the ample amount of free time that I have, why not make my own bookmarks.

Yay, I just made my blog Art-y!

What Buddha said

I was reading a book earlier today and came across this beautiful verse where the great Buddha says "Believe not because some old manuscripts are produced, believe not because its your national belief, because you have been made to believe from childhood; but reason it all out, and after you have analysed it, then, if you find that it will do good to one and all, believe it, live up to it, and help others to live upto it".

What a great man Buddha is. He is said to be the only prophet who said " I do not care to know your various theories of God. What is the use of discussing the subtle doctrines about the soul? Do good and be Good. And this will take you to freedom and to wherever truth is."

Isn't it so true!! This is in wide contrast to where others want us to by heart all the versus written in books irrespective of you understanding its meaning or not, or even where we are forced to follow rules and superstitions blindly whether you like it or not. Why follow so many rules which don't make sense to us! Just hope someday everyone has their right to follow their own spiritual path and not be forced upon. Seriously.

My Idol, My Hero

Is there someone that you look up to always? Is there someone whom you idolize, someone's thoughts and actions you perceive ? Do you find your soul attached to that someone? YES, I do. (No No..Its not Shah Rukh Khan...:)) )

He is my Hero. He is no ordinary person. He is special. He is a paragon for me today. I would always want be like him. I want to have that big heart that he has, as hard working as him, his stoic patience, his unmatched selfless nature, a true achiever like him, as humble as he is, as satisfied with life as he is, the unpretentious he is, the philanthropic that he is.

To evolve from hardships and not even complain about it is the quality of a true human. To achieve success in life and not having the self-esteem is the thing that I salute him. I wonder why can't everyone else be like him. (though I have my share of squabbles with him).

Yes, He is my hero, My Inspiration, My Dad!!!

Wen I was a kid People asked me "So what do you want to become when you grow up?" I would say "I want to become a doctor". And then they say "Oh ! So you want to follow your dad's footsteps." Though not a doctor , yes I do want to follow his footsteps.

Where is Space ? And beyond

Do you know the answer to this? I wonder sometimes...No No, many a time .

I am in Bangalore -> Karnataka -> India -> Asia -> Earth
-> Solar system ->Milky Way -> Space -> ??????????(and then where?)


I mean, where exactly is this space? How far is this space? Where does this Space start?
Where is the END OF SPACE?

(Space is probably in GOD's belly:)))))))))))))) hehehhehe. That is the answer I get sometimes:) )


Do you remember the scene in where Lord baby Krishna eats mud and then his mom asks him to open his mouth?? She saw the whole universe in His mouth!!! Probably we are in His mouth:))!!

There are lots of theories married to the 'End of Space' like : Space is infinite, Bing Bang, No Big Bang, Vacuum, Space has edges..etc etc etc..and the list goes on.

Nobody knows for Sure, and the mystery continues!!

"Happy Bday To Me"

Im 26 yrs old today...Can I believe that? Still can't believe that im 26 and a To-Be-Mom now. :))
Wow..But it feels gr8 at this moment , having spoken to so many friends today.
It was a pretty silent b'day this time. Wishes started flowing in from 12 O' clock yesterday night, my hubby being the first to wish me:) We had a nice family lunch at Nalapaka, the restaurant popular for its north karnataka cuisine. Then we went to temple in the evening. And that was for my b'day outings this time.
Had it been If I was in school, b'days were so different then. We were allowed to wear colour dress on our birthdays. I was always so excited to wear my brand new colour dress! And then I would distribute chocolates to everyone in my class and to all the teachers. And then it was so much fun. I would stand in front of the class and everyone would stand up and sing the "Happy Birthday To You" Song. It was so fun then.
Do you remember how you celebrated your birthday when you were in school? Isn't it such a cute memory:)
